SUMMARY:October Zoom Program-Mike Matthews: "Macro Photography: The Amazing World of Close Up Photography"
DESCRIPTION:About This Webinar: Exploring this small world can be simply amazing\, seeing detail that is not visible to the naked eye. Join me as we explore the this small but beautiful world of insects and more. Let me show you how you can free yourself from the use of a tripod by using flash. I will also review the best choices for a macro lens\, and how to get tack sharp images every time. Plus\, we will discuss image stacking for incredible high magnification photography greater than one to one. Mike’s passion for nature photography began over forty-five years ago and he has been shooting professionally for twenty years. His images have been published in numerous national publications like Birds and Blooms\, Gulfshore Life\, Bassmaster’s\, and more. Many of his images have also been published by universities for articles relating to specific topics like human/wildlife interaction. Being an avid outdoorsman\, his passion for photographing wildlife is ever present when he is in the field. In addition\, one of Mike’s favorite topics is Herpetology\, (the study of reptiles and amphibians). This is an area that has led Mike to be one of the premier macro photographers in the U.S. He is best known for his macro photography workshops where he brings exotic reptiles and amphibians for participants to photograph. Mike also offers a variety of guided Nature Photography Tours\, Birding Workshops\, Floral workshops\, and Extreme Macro. He has been a Keynote speaker throughout the USA on these topics. https://mikematthewsphotography.com \nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/j/83675189127

SUMMARY:September Zoom Program-Roger Mattingly\, "Flashy Flowers"
DESCRIPTION:“Flashy Flowers: Off Camera Flash at the Botanic Garden”\, from Roger Mattingly \nLearn to use iTTL control with a 3 foot coiled cable to shoot flowers no matter what the weather. Using the flash correctly will allow you to chose your f stop for max depth of field\, stop motion\, open up shadows and give you the rich saturation flowers deserve. Inspired by the work of Anne Belmont I decided to use what I had on hand to capture the stunning variety of beautiful flowers. Drawing on my 6 years as the principle photographer for the Garden in the late 80’s and early 90’s learn what to shoot and when to shoot it during the ever changing panorama of the unique flower resources of the Chicago Botanic Garden. Presentation includes 120 shots from 3 years of shooting. http://www.digitalroger.com. \nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://zoom.us/j/96972193329 \n

SUMMARY:An Artistic Photographer Lies in All of Us
DESCRIPTION:Our March 18\, 2021 @ 7:00 PM program is from Lisa Langell\, presenting “An Artistic Photographer Lies in All of Us”.\nAbout This Webinar\nWe as photographers often want to be more innovative and creative\, but our own mental barriers can “prevent” the creative process from happening. One of the biggest mental blocks is simply believing\, “I’m not a very creative person.”\nI hear this most often from engineers\, accountants\, and those in technical fields who have struggled to discover the creative style they desire.\nThis session breaks down creative barriers in a really fun and logical way! I take an interactive\, myth-busters-style approach! You’ll learn how to apply the creative process and develop patterns that will bring more joy\, innovation\, success\, creativity and happiness to your photography! You will learn:\n• How even those who feel they “are not artistic” can actually become artistic and creative\n• Understand “imaginative skill” and how it develops\n• About my “Mash up” formula\n• How you can debunk your own myths about artistic and creative ability\n• How to exercise your creativity through real-world examples and activities we will complete during the session\n• Inspirations to take with you \nYou need to register to attend! Registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/an-artistic-photographer-lies-in-all-of-us-garden-photographic-society-tickets-119129013085\nOnce you register\, you will receive a confirmation and unique link for you to join the webinar\, as well as a link to add a reminder to your calendar. Also note that registering for the webinar will add you to their email list for information and updates on their tours\, contests and webinars. If not valuable to you\, you may unsubscribe.

SUMMARY:Phone Photography Workshop by Jerry Hug
DESCRIPTION:About this Webinar \nIf you want to participate “hands-on” in the workshop\, you need to download Snapseed (free) and Retouch ($1.99) for IOS or Android. (Retouch is also called TouchRetouch.) iPhone users should have their iOS updated to 14.4. I have sent an email to members (and CACCA members) with the 2 images that you will need on your phone to use in the workshop. \nJerry Hug is an award-winning photographer\, educator\, and “go-to” phone photography expert. He uses an extensive collection of applications for creating and editing unique images right on the iPhone or iPad\, including his latest venture into shooting black and white infrared on the iPhone. SUMMARY:11 Tips for Awesome Abstract Photos
DESCRIPTION:Our Saturday\, December 12\, 2020 @ 11:00 AM! program is from Anthony Epes\, presenting “11 Tips for Awesome Abstract Photos”-from his Petapixel article \nAbout This Webinar\nIn this informative and fun workshop I will take you through some key ideas on how to develop and deepen your experiences of abstract photography. I will show you the techniques I use to approach this photo style\, and give you takeaway tips and ideas that will inspire you to explore this exciting genre. “Of all the arts\, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know how to draw well\, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for colors\, and that you be a true poet. This last is essential.” -Wassily Kandinsky. I feel the same is true of abstract photography. It seems easy and simple – but in fact requires real attention\, a ‘heightened sensitivity’ to both composition and to the world around you. \nCalifornian photographer Anthony Epes lives in Andalucia\, Spain. He came to Europe to shoot London twenty years ago for his first book\, and stayed to create a series of books and exhibitions on Cities at Dawn\, as well as a beautiful family. Anthony’s projects and work have been featured on The Guardian\, BBC World\, French Photo Magazine\, The Economist\, CNN\, Atlas Obscura and Digital Photographer. Anthony shares his passion for photography in photo workshops around the world\, and in inspiring online classes. \nYou need to register to attend!
