SUMMARY:Fall Color Photowalk: Des Plaines River Trail Hike
DESCRIPTION:Fall Color Photowalk: Des Plaines River Trail hike\, Saturday\, October 21st\, 1PM. \nJoin Edgar Reihl for a photo walk along the Des Plaines River Trail to enjoy the fall colors. We’ll park at Potawatomie Pond just off Dundee Road in Northbrook\, (take the Potawatomi Woods access road just before you get to Wheeling) which is a lovely spot for picture taking. From there\, we’ll walk north along the river for about a mile\, crossing the bridge into Lake County; a spot with vibrant colors. We’ll continue on the trail for about another ½ mile to the second bridge\, passing through beautiful forest areas. You can bring a tripod for picture taking at Potawatomie Pond\, and if you have a lightweight one you can take it along on the hike if you wish. The total distance is about 3 miles.
